The following message was shared with the congregation on Sunday, April 14, 2024. 

Dear Central Family,

Our hearts are in Israel today as we continue to absorb news about Iran’s unprecedented overnight attack. We are grateful to learn that despite the bombardment of hundreds of missiles and drones, there are no fatalities reported at this time. Still, there is a real sense of escalation and danger -- with the lives of all Israelis having been threatened and innocent people, including young children, seriously injured. We are grateful for the U.S. government’s steadfast and unwavering support of Israel, and for the protection that our military provided, along with Israel’s Iron Dome, its other technological innovations, and its brave Defense Forces.  

We pray for all people of the region and for their government leaders to have the forbearance, wisdom, and compassion necessary to bring about lasting peace and security – and to bring the hostages home.
