Nursery School Classroom Blends Technology & Art

May 27, 2013 | General News

Student artists from the Red Room proudly unveiled an interactive art show on May 22.

With the help of their teachers Ashley Engelson, Laura Puzio, and Sarah Taber, the 4- and 5-year olds spent several months creating unique art pieces inspired by Picasso, Monet, Warhol, and many others. Each little artist recorded a video about one of their favorites pieces, which visitors to “the gallery” were able to watch on their smart phones using QR readers.

Some video clips show the students dancing with paint while creating Jackson Pollack-inspired drip painting.

The opening reception was attended by the tots’ family members. Their hand-made art and video messages will be on display in the Community House until May 31, 2013.
