Torah, Trees, and Tu B’shevat

Thursday, January 18, 2024, 7:15–8:30 pm

In Person (Pavilion) & Virtual (Zoom)

From the fateful bite from Eden’s Tree of Knowledge to calling the Torah our “Tree of Life,” trees feature prominently in Jewish text and tradition. What is the meaning behind these references? What lessons can we glean about nurturing both the environment and our spiritual growth? Elevate your Tu B’shevat (the Jewish New Year of the Trees) with Dr. Adriane Leveen as she explores the multi-layered meanings of trees in the Torah. In-person attendance includes Tu B'shevat-themed treats, a hands-on activity, and an advocacy project to deepen your connection to the vital role of trees in our tradition – physically, metaphorically, and spiritually.
