Folktales have always served as fantastical windows into the values, anxieties, and aspirations of their respective cultures, and Jewish folklore is no exception. Immerse yourself in the richness of Yiddish and Hasidic tales from across the globe and throughout the ages, discovering new resonance for our modern life through contemporary poetry invoking Jewish folklore. Drawing from anthologies curated by respected editors like Nathan Ausubel, Yaffa Eliach, Howard Schwartz, and others, we’ll explore why these stories spoke so strongly to our ancestors, and what they have to say to us today.
