Date: Thursday, January 25, 6:00 pm
Location: Jewish Women’s Foundation of New York, 130 East 59th Street
It’s all anyone is talking about. The world is changing before our eyes with each day, each hour bringing new revelations and giving hope that sexual harassment as we’ve always known it (and to some extent accepted) is no more. Hope that we might bequeath to our daughters, granddaughters, sons, and grandsons a world of equality and opportunity. We are all struggling – personally and communally – with how to respond, what actions to take, how to add our voice to what at times feels like a revolution. And now, in addition to the arts community from Hollywood to the ballet, and the tech industry from large companies to start-ups, misconduct in the Jewish community is coming to the fore. In the Jewish communal world, we have an obligation to create safe, respectful workplaces that are free from gender abuse and harassment. It is our ethical responsibility and our moral imperative.
Taking place Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the office of the Jewish Women’s Foundation of New York, 130 East 59th Street, NYC, Revealing #metoo As #we too in Jewish Communal Life: An Evening of Discussion and Action will include reading of stories from those who have experienced gender harassment and abuse and a facilitated discussion about the topic where we can have our questions answered and take individual and collective action. Click here if you’d like to share your own story. The event is free and open to anyone interested in learning about gender harassment and abuse in the Jewish community.
