Join Cantor Julia Cadrain, congregants Robin Kellner and John Sicher, and Dr. John Avery of NewYork-Presbyterian for a talk about supporting loved ones with substance abuse and a training in NARCAN—the life-saving medication that can quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. After being trained by Dr. Avery, attendees will receive a NARCAN kit and become authorized to carry and use it on anyone experiencing an overdose. Whether you have a family member or friend fighting substance abuse, or want to be a first-responder to anyone in need, this session can help you to save lives.

Ammud, the JOC Torah Academy, provides Jewish education for Jews of Color (JOCs) by Jews of Color. Join members of Ammud and self-identified Central Synagogue JOCs for an evening of learning, community, and dinner. Rabbi Buchdahl will be offering a teaching related to Ammud’s year-long theme, “Reclaiming Hope and Imagination,” followed by teachings by members of Ammud.
