Explore the text of Samuel I and II. Together we will look at and compare the translations of the Jewish Publication Society and the more recent translation by UC Berkeley professor Robert Alter, and learn why Alter believes that the character of David is the finest portrayal of a human life from antiquity. Our discussions will work to understand the agendas of the original authors and their subsequent editors.

Join us as we celebrate the beginning of the year at Central Tots! Come to meet your teachers, mingle with other Tots families, and learn a little more about what is in store for the year. Our beloved music educator Shira Kobren Wasserman will lead us all in song and there will be snacks for all.

This event is open to all families interested or enrolled in Central Tots classes. All children must be accompanied by a grown up. Parents, caregivers, grandparents, or other special adults welcome! RSVP required.
