Accessibility

Many of Central Synagogue’s events and programs are open to the public. Our space provides for full access to visitors with unique needs.

Wheelchair Access

There is ramp and elevator access to our Sanctuary for those unable to climb stairs. The entrance ramp is located on 55th Street, just off Lexington Avenue. At the end of the ramp, a member of our staff will direct guests to the conveniently located elevator with access to our Sanctuary on the main floor. Spacious restrooms are also accessible by elevator.

Assistive Listening Devices and Large Print Prayer Books

Our ushers are happy to provide visitors with hearing enhancement devices and/or large print prayer books upon request.

PEARLS Hearing Loop System

Our state-of-the-art hearing loop system enhances the worship experience for those who may be hard of hearing. This system was generously donated by Mindy and Jon Gray and their family in honor of Mindy’s mother, Pearl Basser, in blessed memory. Anyone with a hearing aid or a cochlear implant that is equipped with a t-coil will receive a direct audio feed of our services and programs in the Sanctuary and Lindenbaum Pavilion. Please note, the t-coil setting in hearing aids have to be activated before use. Consult your audiologist to ensure t-coils are properly adjusted.
