The Book of Jonah ends with such a dramatic question mark that customary readings on Yom Kippur afternoon tack on three verses of the book of Micah to create a conclusion. What does the lack of resolution in this holiday’s prophetic text suggest to us as we prepare to write a new year’s chapter of our own lives?
