Presented in partnership with the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, this 3-part series -- taught by leading Hartman faculty -- explores how Jewish tradition and history can help us grapple with the current moral, ethical and religious questions facing Israel and the Jewish people. 

Tuesday, November 28 – Ethics of War with Dr. Rabbi Shlomo Brody 
Delve into the ethics of war in Jewish tradition, and how contemporary theories of just war can be useful in analyzing the current fighting. 

Tuesday, December 12 – Israel Right Now with Yossi Klein Halevi 
For our second class, we will be joined by Yossi Klein Halevi from Israel. Learn about how the state and its people are reacting to the unprecedented October 7 attacks.
