Let’s Talk About Hard Things: A Conversation With Anna Sale

Thursday, June 16, 2022, 7:00–8:15 pm

Why is death so hard to talk about, and why is it so important to discuss? Join Anna Sale (host of the award-winning WNYC Studio interview podcast Death, Sex & Money and author of the book Let's Talk About Hard Things) and Rabbi Nicole Auerbach for a conversation about difficult conversations. Sale will share what she has learned from talking with people about death, and discuss strategies for beginning the hard but essential conversations around end-of-life issues. Presented as part of the What Matters initiative, which highlights the importance of advance care planning, and in partnership with Park Avenue Synagogue and Plaza Jewish Community Chapel.

Journalist Anna Sale hosts the award-winning interview podcast Death, Sex & Money from WNYC Studios. Before starting the podcast, she covered politics for years. She is the author of the book Let's Talk About Hard Things, which The New Yorker wrote "shows us how supportive listening happens." She was raised in West Virginia and lives in Berkeley with her husband and two kids.
