Hosted Jessica Greenbaum, Poet and Central Teacher
After a morning of prayer and contemplation, join these small-group learning sessions with rabbis, artists and teachers, to explore the big question of Yom Kippur: What does God want from us?
The Yom Kippur haftarah, Isaiah 58, plainly and passionately teaches the difference between thoughtless fasting and authentic repentance. This session will consider the haftarah and several contemporary poems—also plain and passionate—to help us internalize the lessons of Isaiah, on this day and beyond.
