Central’s new series, Spotlight NYC, showcases the incredible and transformative work of people around New York City.
Join us as we meet yet another inspiring New Yorker, Jennifer Finn, the founder and executive director of Concerts in Motion.
Concerts in Motion (CiM) brings personal, live concerts from the cities most talented and dedicated professional and student musicians to homebound and isolated older adults, veterans, people with disabilities, individuals experiencing housing or food insecurity, and medical patients of all ages. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CiM began offering Virtual Visiting Concerts via Zoom in March and is now serving on average between 700 and 800 isolated NYC residents a week. The musical roster represents 16 genres of music and 17 languages.
During this one hour program, you will have a chance to learn more about Jennifer Finn, Concerts in Motion, and Central’s special relationship with the CiM, but you will also get a taste of what these special Virtual Concerts provide through a short, live, performance with professional musician Tereasa Payne (flute, world flutes, reeds) and two talented student musicians.
