Please join Rabbi Peter Rubinstein as he shares his wisdom on a very important conversation, which every adult, at every stage of life, should be engaged in, regarding what we consider quality of our life to be at the end of our lives. Have we thought through our wishes for our final chapter of life, and have we communicated those wishes to our loved ones? Have they agreed to and are they able to speak for you when you can no longer speak for yourself? How can we ensure that at this most difficult time, our families are able to support each other rather than having to work through conflicts?
Judaism considers life to be sacred. Planning in advance for the last chapters of life honors life’s sacred quality, draws upon our tradition of dialogue, and strengthens our loving bonds. Jewish values serve as a framework for these conversations and enable those closest to us to respect and honor our loved one’s choices at the end of life.
