For our fall Chai Connections event and in celebration of our 180th anniversary, embark with us on a virtual journey through time and place to our synagogue’s Lower-East-Side roots. The evening will begin with a Pre-Oneg, followed by a special presentation that will introduce Central as an evolving Jewish community and will be led by Tenement Museum President Emeritus, Dr. Morris Vogel, with our very own Rabbinic Intern, Sarah Berman. During the presentation we will discuss the tenements, settlement houses, playgrounds, and public schools where Central members (mostly women) tried to help new immigrants make their way in new and often difficult circumstances.
Your tax-deductible contribution to our Annual Yom Kippur Appeal will provide for Central’s exceptional educational, community, and spiritual programs and help enrich the Jewish experience of our members and the community-at-large.
