Job Summary/Objective
Maintains the buildings interiors/exteriors in a clean and orderly manner; performs a variety of custodial and building maintenance duties as directed. Sets up and breaks down events at the facilities as directed, and performs related work as required. This position is responsible for the safe and daily operations of the facilities.

The Buildings Manager, Assistant Buildings Manager

Hours

  • Full Time, Schedule may Fluctuate, May be required to work Fridays and Saturdays for Services, Weekends, Holidays and High Holidays.
  • Non-Exempt and eligible for OT over 40 hours per week with the supervisor’s approval.

Events and Maintenance Staff Person:

  • Sets up and breaks down events. Assists in the operations of the Nursery and Religious School
  • Sweeps, scrubs and mops floors
  • Vacuums and cleans rugs
  • Washes, dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, pictures and shelves
  • Empties and cleans waste receptacles
  • Cleans walls, fountains, windows and restrooms
  • Replenishes supplies
  • Turns out lights and locks doors and windows
  • Reports necessary repairs
  • Cleans and maintains equipment used in work
  • May perform a variety of building maintenance tasks
  • Available for special events and High Holy Days
  • Promptly informs management of any injury, safety and/or security issues.

Core Competencies:

  • The methods, materials and equipment used in events, janitorial and building maintenance.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain a safe and hazard free work environment for the Staff, Students, Clergy, Congregation, and fellow employees.
  • Report any suspicious/illegal activity to a supervisor and/or Security immediately.

Communication:

  • To perform a variety of manual tasks; follow oral and written directions; plan and complete assigned duties on a regular schedule; maintain good working relationships with others. Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.

LCLJ (Religious School) Educator - Full-time
