A Look at Our History: December 2012
Celebrating with light is popular in many religions during the dark month of December. During Chanukah, lighting the chanukiyah is our tradition, as represented by these joyful religious school students preparing to light the candles. The candles of the chanukiyah represent the miraculous eight days that the small vial of oil found in the Temple burned after the success led by the Maccabees.

A Shabbat In Memory of Sandy Hook Victims
Our congregation and nation are raw with emotion and heartbreak following the Connecticut school shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The spirit of our typically joyous Shabbat evening services was muted on December 14. Senior Rabbi Peter J. Rubinstein began the service with these heartfelt remarks.

Chanukah with Our Students

ASPCA’s Annual Blessing of the Animals
Yesterday, Rabbi Rubinstein and Rabbi Salth teamed with Senior Minister Stephen Bauman and Christian clergy from Christ Church on Park Avenue for the ASPCA's annual Blessing of the Animals.
