Beginning Hebrew

This is a class for those with no prior introduction to the Hebrew language or those who need a refresher!  The alphabet, vowels, present-tense verb conjugation, and reading will be taught.

Intermediate Hebrew

Taught by Jackie Schreiber

This class is appropriate for those who would like to continue their Hebrew study and focus on the root system, vocabulary, verb conjugation, and reading comprehension.

Advanced Liturgical & Biblical Hebrew

Taught by Michal Nachmany

This course is for students who have a solid foundation of Hebrew and would like to gain competency in reading and understanding. The Reform prayer book and Torah will be the primary texts.

This class will study the weekly Haftarah portion and the stories from the book Prophets.

Reading and Responding to Women of the Tanach

This course will focus on passages of the Tanach in which women drive the narrative.  We will take a literary approach to the Hebrew Bible and study the stories of Potipher’s wife, Delilah, Tamar, Hannah, and Miriam, just to name a few.

The Florence Melton Adult Mini School

Melton is an internationally-renowned formal study program for adult Jewish study.  This two-year course is open to Jewish members and non-members who want to learn about Jewish living and history.
