In this course we will read chapters in the Old Testament from the narrative of King David and Bat Sheba with modern interpretations, from the Song of Songs, a short introduction to Kabbalah and its role in Judaism throughout the generations, chapters from Maimonides, narratives of Agnon, Amos Oz, and the poetry of Yehudah Amichai.
