The 18th and 19th centuries were a time of great change for the Jews of Europe. While Jews in Western Europe were influenced by the Enlightenment and greater civic freedoms, Jews in Eastern Europe were caught up in the rise of Hassidism. Both Hassidism and the Enlightenment challenged age-old beliefs and practices. Join us as we explore this exciting period of Jewish history.
