Central Connections creates and delivers baby baskets to welcome our youngest members to Central Synagogue’s community. We are looking for creative hands to assemble these baskets and/or individuals to deliver them. Assist in organizing a Bagels & B’lox brunch for our cutest and newest members and their parents!
Be a Construction Worker for the Day

Several times throughout the year, we ask congregants to join Central Synagogue’s team to build homes with Habitat for Humanity – New York City. Typically, the workday is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No construction experience is necessary. We also schedule “builds” in conjunction with Mitzvah Days. (See Mitzvah Days at Central Synagogue for contact information regarding these Habitat for Humanity events.)

Central Synagogue's history is being made every day. If you would like to help our Archives keep this history accessible for future generations, please join us in the Archives Office on Wednesday afternoons. Basic computer skills are necessary.

The Caring Committee would love to welcome new volunteers who are willing to donate as little as one hour a week to feed the homeless. You also can help by donating plastic take-out containers, travel-size sundries from hotels, planes, etc. or clothing items such as socks and men's pants and shirts. These can be brought to the Community House at any time. Monetary donations are also gratefully accepted.

Cantor Angela Buchdahl, Cantor Elizabeth Sacks and organist Dave Strickland will lead both a Congregational Choir and a Youth Choir that will sing at special services and holiday celebrations throughout the year. Rehearsals are scheduled around each specific performance. Please contact Paul Dorfman in the Cantor’s office if you or your children would like to be involved and we will notify you of meeting times. Please consider adding your voice to the choirs of Central!
