Central Synagogue has created a partnership with the Urban Horizons Early Childcare Discovery Center, a federally funded pre-school program for low-income families in the South Bronx. Collaboration began this past spring with a drive to collect picture books and easy readers for parents' home libraries. Then our volunteers helped the Center create its first gardening area, where the children grew radishes and sunflowers over the summer.
