Thank-You Note from a Lieutenant Seving in Iraq

Dear Central Synagogue,

Thank you for the Mitzvah Day 2008/Hanukkah care package. I received the
package the day before Thanksgiving, and it couldn’t have come at a
better time. This year for Thanksgiving, I am thankful for all of my
family, friends, and supporters all over the world. I have received
nothing but acts of kindness from so many people that I love and care
about and from many people that I haven’t even met. This is a great
thing that your congregation is doing for Mitzvah Day, and I am sure
that I will not be the only one to write you a thank-you note. I am the
platoon leader for 25 Soldiers in eastern Baghdad and your care package
is actually caring for 26 Soldiers not just one because I always share my
care packages with them. From all of my men, thank you not only for the
package, but for all of your support, thoughts, and prayers.
