Les Skolnik is excited to be joining the Religious School staff for the 2011-2012 school year.
Les developed his passion for Jewish education after participating in the Reform movement’s camp and NFTY programs, and during his experiences as a kid at North Shore Synagogue in Syosset, NY. Les began working in religious schools at the age of 13 and taught Hebrew all throughout high school and as an undergraduate at the State University of New York at Buffalo. For the past 9 years Les has been a Jewish youth worker and educator, serving as the Director of Youth Programs at Temple Beth Zion in Buffalo, NY and Temple Sinai of Roslyn Heights, NY. Les also served as the Director of Jewish Student Life at the University of Pittsburgh.
Les recently graduated from Hofstra University with his M.S.Ed. in Inclusive Secondary Social Studies Education, where he studied special education inclusion programs, anti-bullying programs, and the teaching of social studies to students with disabilities.
