Jo has been in the field of early childhood education for more than 30 years. She began her journey in Buffalo, New York, where she graduated in the field of early childhood / elementary education. Her professional journey, directing preschool programs in Synagogues and Jewish Community Centers, has taken her across the country to such places as Minnesota, Georgia, Maryland, California and New Jersey. In her most recent position, Jo directed a preschool with over 300 families and was instrumental in establishing a new parenting center which now serves more than 90 families.
Jo feels that it is necessary to meet families where they are in order to engage them Jewishly. She feels that it is important to help nurture families, encouraging them to begin or continue on their Jewish journey and to provide the setting and resources to make their journey possible. She also believes that the early childhood experience provides the foundation for one’s lifetime.
Jo currently lives in New Jersey with her husband and is the proud parent of two adult sons, one living in Florida and one living in Washington D.C.
